DPMS AP4 FEATURES

One of the standout features of the DPMS AP4 is its construction. The rifle features a 16-inch lightweight barrel, a collapsible stock, and a free-floating handguard, all of which contribute to its low weight and easy handling. The rifle also features a Picatinny rail for mounting optics, and a birdcage-style flash hider to reduce muzzle flash.

In terms of performance, the DPMS AP4 is a solid performer. The rifle is chambered in .223 Remington or 5.56x45mm NATO, and is capable of firing both types of ammunition reliably. The rifle’s trigger is crisp and responsive, making it easy to shoot accurately, and the rifle’s lightweight construction makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces.

The DPMS AP4 also comes with some useful features right out of the box. The rifle comes with a 30-round magazine, and is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket magazines. The rifle also has a dust cover and forward assist, which are useful for keeping the rifle clean and clearing any malfunctions.

Rifle Ammo in Stock

One potential drawback of the DPMS AP4 is that it is not the most customizable rifle on the market. The rifle’s handguard is free-floating, which can make it difficult to mount accessories such as a bipod or vertical grip. Additionally, the rifle’s collapsible stock is not the most comfortable for long periods of shooting, although this can be remedied with an aftermarket stock.

Overall, the DPMS AP4 is a solid choice for those looking for a lightweight and reliable AR-15-style rifle. Its construction is top-notch, and its performance is more than adequate for most shooting applications. While it may not be the most customizable rifle on the market, it comes with enough features to satisfy most shooters, and its low weight and easy handling make it a pleasure to shoot.

DPMS AP4 Review

After the first 10 rounds down range she was hitting 1″ groups and 100 yards on an open sight. Easy to use and hard to abuse the DPMS Panther takes a real world beating and comes back to repeat the original groupings after a couple of hundred rounds being hauled around in the rain and brush hunting for things to shoot at in the woods. You can buy a more expensive AR-15 type rifle and get much less than this one. A very economical varmint rifle for all of the varmints that bother your herd. Right from the box this baby rocks.

Over a six-month period, the rifle was 100 percent reliable with all types of ammo including traditional military style full metal jacket and also with more exotic fare. There was one major problem that occurred when the adjustable trigger set screw worked loose and left the gun unable to fire. A touch of thread lock fixed the problem, but the issue exposed the potential risk that comes with using an adjustable trigger on a fighting rifle.
