Rocky boot S2V review:
These boots are one of the most comfortable you will ever wear. The fit good right from the start and get better as they wear in. The S2v’s run a 1/2 size small though, so I suggest buying at least 1 size up if you like insoles in your boots!

I am an active duty U.S. Army service member. Having used numerous types of boots from the ever popular Danners, to the less commonly seen Nikes. Having a good set of boots is a top priority for all service members.

The Rocky 8 Inch S2v Boot are definitely a good set of boots. Being able to ruck march for long periods of time with large amounts of wieght is an essential ability in my line of work.

Danner Rivot review:
I just picked up my Danner Riviot’s from the base PX. They cost me $180. So who ever is trying to sell them for 200+ is crazy. Since 08′ i’ve owned 4 pair of boots, 2 of them where issued to me from basic, the other 2 where Danners that i picked up my self.

This pair being my 3rd pair of Danner Rivot boots. My 1SG told me last week that i needed to get “cleaner boots” so thats why i bought them. However, I still got another 100+ miles i figure i can get out of my other two. The Rivot Boot is American Made in the great state “my home town” OREGON, in the weirdest city on the planet – PORTLAND!!!

Solid build construction, Lighter then the SV2’s and to me they look more professional. I only gave them a 4/5 because i only walked around in them at the store, but i am willing to bet that they will stand up to anything i throw at them.

I am now wearing the Danner Rivot TFX boot while deployed in Afghanistan. They have held up to daily wear and tons of abuse.

This is the model 51490. These are the ONLY boots I’ll wear.

more Rocky boot review for S2V:
I got these boots after a few weeks at Infantry Officer Basic Course. The Rocky 8 Inch S2v Boot were like walking on air for months and got me through some of the toughest ruck marches of my life…. Unfortunately, my feet got used to them.

As soon as I switched back to my old style of boots, I started getting blisters, which I never used to get before Rocky. These are my go-to boots when we have to go out on a ruck march. I dont get any blisters with these which is a huge bonus for me. I am now able to hike 10 plus miles with a seventy pound backpack and my feet feel a lot better with out the blisters.

Question: What boot are the Marines wearing now?

Answer: In 2018 the Danner Reckoning 8-inch Coyote Hot was approved for wear.

Question: Do any US military use the Rocky boots? Yes; check out the review above.
