The Casio G-Shock DW5600MS-1 Military Blackout Watch is a true testament to the G-Shock line’s reputation for toughness, reliability, and functionality. This particular model embraces a sleek and stealthy design, featuring an all-black exterior that exudes a sense of ruggedness and style.

One of the standout features of the DW5600MS-1 is its shock resistance. As with all G-Shock watches, this model is built to withstand harsh conditions and impact, making it an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, or individuals with active lifestyles. Whether you’re hiking, engaging in extreme sports, or working in demanding environments, this watch is up to the task.

The digital display of the DW5600MS-1 is crisp and clear, providing excellent readability even in low-light conditions. The inclusion of a backlight ensures that you can easily check the time at any time of the day or night. Additionally, the watch offers a variety of useful functions, including a stopwatch, countdown timer, and multiple alarms, allowing you to stay organized and on schedule.

The Casio G-Shock DW5600MS-1 maintains a compact and lightweight design, which makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The adjustable band ensures a secure fit, and the watch sits snugly on the wrist without feeling bulky or cumbersome. It is also water-resistant up to 200 meters, providing peace of mind for water-related activities, such as swimming or snorkeling.

One aspect that may require adjustment is the size of the digits on the display, which can be a bit small for some individuals, particularly those with vision impairments. However, this is a minor concern that can be mitigated by using the backlight feature when necessary.

Bottom Line

Overall, the Casio G-Shock DW5600MS-1 Military Blackout Watch offers exceptional durability, a sleek design, and a range of practical features that make it a reliable companion for any adventure. Whether you’re looking for a rugged timepiece for outdoor activities or simply appreciate the G-Shock brand’s reputation, this watch is a solid choice that delivers on its promises.

We get this question all the time. What watch did you wear during your time in the Navy SEAL Teams?

I was issued a Bulova dive watch but it was too fancy for day to day work so I just used a plain old Casio G-shock.

This watched worked great for every day carry and I went through a few of them as they got destroyed or lost in day to day work.

But I really liked the watch as it was lightweight and never malfunctioned and was great for diving under 100 feet or so.

It is also not big and clunky so when you are running for PT – it doesn’t weigh down your arm swinging back and forth.

They are a little more expensive now that back a few years but you can still pick one up for under $75 at Amazon.com.

Question: What do you think of the Luminox black evo vs Casio G-shock?

Answer: I have a friend who has two Luminox watches that he will wear into town or to dinner. But he wears the g-shock for his day to day work as a contractor. Check out the Luminox blackout evo review here:
