Eleiko training bar Review by Morgan
Quality 5 out of 5 stars
Just received the Eleiko training bar. My only other quality bar was a Texas Power Bar, so this is my first, true, 28mm oly bar. Finish is second to none – the black is very, very nice. The knurling on the Texas Power Bar was very sharp. This bar is more like a rough sand paper – very subtle, but effective. It has a center knurl which is even lighter, but enough for back squatting – you can barely feel the center knurl so it wont tear up your chest either. I’ll post up more when the bar gets some use. I’m anxious to feel how it responds to some cleans and DL’s.

Pendlay Bar Review by Steven W
Quality 4 out of 5 stars
I gotta say this bar is phenomenal for Olympic lifts. Much better than I expected actually. Whip and flex are much more responsive and noticeable than on the Rogue bar. Knurl is fantastic, too. Holds chalk very well. However, I will not be doing heavy powerlifting with this bar. Deadlifts over 400 pounds don’t feel too great, since the bar has quite a bit of flex to it. For the big lifts I’d recommend more of a hybrid bar, like the Rogue bar, or better yet a power bar.
Overall, I absolutely love this bar for WODs and for heavy Oly lifts! Great buy!

Eleiko Bar Review by Wasatch Damon
Quality 5 out of 5 stars
When you only want the best – I train on this bar 4 days a week and quite possibly love it as much as my 3 sons. Initially the knurling was very aggressive but I’ve gotten used to it. Otherwise it’s the best bar I’ve ever used. There is a noticeable difference in the whip and spin with an Eleiko vs Rogue bar and I find this bar to be much easier on my wrists and shoulders. Would highly recommend you splurge. One caveat: This bar has never been in a squat rack and never will be, it’s for Oly only.

Pendlay bar Review by Old Fart
Quality 5 out of 5 stars
We’ve had the Pendlay Nexgen bushing bar for about a year… One old fart and two teenagers doing a variety of things including cleans, power cleans, the power lifts, and dynamic exercises including jumping with the bar (with weights) which we learned from Didier Poppe’s training. I admit that my reference bars are the old York bars. Having said that, this bar is very high quality. The spin is very uniform over time and side to side. I am more than satisfied with this bar, but, I intend to buy a Rogue bar for our second “real” bar for comparison.

Eleiko bar Review by Greg Kemp
We have 20 Eleiko training bars at the high school I coach. We have about 5 from 1993 and only one have we had issues with not spinning any longer. Our bars are in heavy use day in and day out almost 50 Weeks of the year. The Eleiko have held up the best and about every other bar we have tried to use had not lasted like the Eleiko, including 2 Rogue Bars we bought last year. The Rogues are OK bars but not up to the Eleiko standard. We do all of our O-lifts and squats with these bars. I would say pony up for it now and you will never need to buy another bar again.
Pendlay bar Review by Rene R – I like this new bar; it’s great to lift on a real bar finally. The knurling feels just right, and enough of the center is kept knurl-free that I don’t scrape up my shins when pulling from the floor (see pic). The bushings have no vertical play in them–perpendicular to the bar–but the end sleeves do move laterally–parallel to the bar–a bit, maybe 1 or 2 mm, not that it seems to matter. The spin is good, but I don’t have any other experience to compare them against. I wouldn’t say the sleeves “float”, so spinning isn’t effortless, but it certainly seems more than great enough for lifting, and any other bar I’ve used can’t compare (typical Ivanko and Hampton power bars in a commercial gym setting), night and day. Questions from athletes in our gym.
Question: “Coach, what are you hearing about the new Rogue Fitness black Eleiko barbell? It is getting great reviews. Check out the Eleiko barbells here.
Question: Coach, does Eleiko make a CrossFit bar? Yes; Eleiko makes the new XF bar. Obviously the XF stands for CrossFit. I also talked with an Eleiko rep at a table he had set up at the recent National Pro Fitness League for CrossFit athletes. Eleiko is coming into the CrossFit market and is a sponsor of the GRID league.
