We got another IWB option for you guys today, specifically for one of my favorite all around pistols – the Glock 19.
This one is from Holster Co, which makes a plethora of IWB and OWB holster and magazine configurations. The Stealth and Backup (magazine carrier), are great options for concealment, and well made by this great small company.
It’s tough for me personally, and I’m sure many of you, to find the right holster for appendix carry. The only other rig I like to wear that I’ve found, is the Wingman by QVO Tactical. As configured here, the Stealth fits the bill, as well as the Wingman.
They are fashioned from stout kydex, and are not thin, but also not too thick either. As far as colors, mine is in OD green, but they offer a variety of color options. They offer a variety of options for this specific holster above and beyond the color options. Moreover, you have 5 clip options, even one that negates the use of a belt – and 3 different belt size options from 1.5 inch to 2 inches. You can also order it with a sweatguard! I personally wore this on a 5 mile hike in the mountains, and despite being sweaty, I wasn’t the least bit uncomfortable with this riding appendix. Now we get to the cool part – the concealment claw.
This is the mitigating factor for why I like carrying this appendix. The concealment claw, as you will see in pictures to the left, put opposing pressure on your belt, functionally tucking the grip of the firearm towards your body. Anybody that carries knows that this is the thing that prints – the grip. Wearing this appendix or even 4 o’clock, the pistol disappears. And if you don’t have a Glock 19 – don’t worry, they make these for virtually every pistol. The pistol locks in with a positive click, and stays there. I tried jiggling it and shaking it from all angles, and the pistol stayed retained. You will also notice the screws, you can adjust the cant of this holster – but that comes with a caveat we get into at the bottom.
The Backup – their single magazine option – is just as solid as the Stealth. Made from kydex that is a bit thicker, is comes with a heavy duty polymer belt loop, that is reversible should you need to carry it on the other side. Again, you have literally dozens of color options with this one, as well as choices for belt size, and types of clips. The retaining screws adjust easily to ensure the magazine is securely in place.
Overall, it’s a great low profile setup that allows you to have plenty of concealment, and plenty of ammo.
Pros, what we like: Handmade right her in America, first and foremost, by awesome people who obviously pride themselves on their work, and offer their customer options that suit them. Great color selection, solid kydex, innovative design to stop printing with their RCS claw, and a positive locking holster to ensure retention. The magazine carrier is well made, and has a variety of options available as well.
Cons, what we don’t like: Nada, for an appendix rig it’s outstanding.
