Oakley Men’s SI Assault 6″ Hiking Boot Review
I got these boots issued when i deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and ended up buying a second pair from Oakley government sales. I personally love this boot.
It is comparable in comfort to the blackhawk warrior wear but is a little bit lighter plus mine lasted a little while longer than the blackhawks. not saying blackhawk is a bad brand, their boots served me well the first time in iraq but oakley seemed to get it right with these boots.
Hat’s off to these boots and highly recommended for anyone that needs a durable and dependable boot as the Oakley SI 6 Military Boot works really good.
Oakley Men’s SI Assault 8″ Hiking Boot review by Sky: I purchased two pairs of the Oakley Special Forces Elite Special Issue desert combat boots along with the converse Desert boot and tactical research desert boots. I rotated the boots daily so the liners would stay dry and to reduce smell and the risk of jungle foot. I wear the boots for PT and bike rides. At the 60 day mark of wear in Iraq through the end of summer, fall and rainy season of middle Iraq, the heel cup liners on the inside of the Oakley desert combat boots started ripping in both pairs of boots at about the same time. This eventually (in 4 more wearings each) allowed the foam padding to abraid piling onto my socks and then exposed the hard plastic heel form in the inside of the boot.
Oakley Men’s Si Assault 8 Inch Desert Approach Boot review by Richard: For downrange gear, I always depend upon my Oakley products. As a contractor, I have flexibility in my choice of kit.
Hence, whenever I can kit out with Oakley, they are my first-line choice. Boots, gloves, and load-out gear have always met my expectations. This is a no-BS review; I am a hard user of kit and the qual of their gear has so far met my standards.
Oakley Men’s SI Assault review by Richard: Nobody enjoys breaking in a new pair of boots. These Oakley’s are probably the easiest and most comfortable boot I’ve ever broken in.
Although it still takes a long week to break in, they’re exceptionally comfortable. I prefer the 6″ over the 8″ high top as they’re quicker to don and doff. I’m not looking for style here (although they are handsome boots) just pure comfort….so at the end of the day my feet aren’t barking at me!! As the old saying goes…”try it, you’ll like it”!
Oakley Men’s LSA Terrain Boot review by JS: I am currently over seas right now and I bought these boots to replace my old mil issue ones I had, and so far they are preforming great!
So far I’ve put them though quite a rough summer and fall we will see how they hold up for the winter time.
They are light and very flexible no complains about this boot. If you have access to standard issue I suggest you go there to buy it if not then amazon is the place for you to get it.
Oakley Men’s Tactical Six Hiking Boot review by Jay: I have been buying tactical boots from Oakley for six years now. I normally break the last on a pair of boots (Magnum, Bates… etc)in about four months (215 lbs – size 8 feet: not a good mix!!)
The treads on these Oakleys will go before the last breaks and boot becomes floppy. The traction is great and the ankle support is what you would expect. Easy to put on, easy to lace, looks good… this is as close to the perfect boot as I have found!! I highly recommend!
Oakley Men’s OTM Boot review by Johnny:
Boots are nice and fit well but the color, I ordered coyote, was much darker than what is advertised.
They actually closer to a true coyote color which makes it easier to deal with not getting what is advertised.
Plus the color is all the same all over. There are no darker areas like in the nylon mesh like pictured. I guess this is what to expect with an Oakley boot, but from now on, I will stick to their sunglasses. I picked up a pair for less than $40.

Another key feature of Oakley tactical boots is their design. They are typically designed to be lightweight and comfortable, without sacrificing performance or protection. They often feature padded collars and tongues for added comfort, as well as specialized lacing systems for a secure fit.
In terms of style, Oakley tactical boots are often sleek and modern, with a variety of color options available. Some models feature more traditional styles, while others have a more futuristic look.

Question: What is US Army AR 670-1 compliant boots?
Answer: The requirements for AR 670-1 compliant boots are simple. Your boots will need to be 8 to 10 inches in height and have a plain toe in order to pass muster. The sole should be made of rubber or polyurethane, and it should be the same color as the rest of the boot. The US Army has certain standards that we all had to be compliant with.
