Becoming a Navy SEAL: BUD/S Class 224

Check out this awesome video giving a peek into BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) training.

Even if you aren’t on a path to join the SEALs or another Special Operations force—the video is still an awesome resource for understanding the concept that graduating from BUD/S is 80% mental and 20% physical.

While you do need a level of athleticism for this kind of training, you may not for other areas of your life where your perspective is creating the kind of failure where you feel blocked—family, job, school, relationships.

Situations where your focus is more on “can’t” than can, or “too hard” rather than “challenging, but doable.”

As you watch the video and think about a situation in your life where you keep failing to get past or through it. Since your mental attitude is a larger piece of the pie of success, think of the questions below as you watch and jot down answers that come to you.

How can you put what these men talk about into action in your own life?

How are you creating mental blocks with your self-talk?

What could you do to flag yourself in those situations so you create more awareness about your mental attitude so you can shift it?

How can you “focus on the brass ring” of success instead of how hard the situation is?

Let us know in the comments below what you come up with!
