We had an athlete ask last week about trying to find “mental toughness”. We talked about starting with a physical workout like running or walking a 5k – building up to a Spartan Race, GoRuck light or SEALFIT 20X Challenge.
“Do one thing every day that scares you” – Eleanor Roosevelt.
You have to take that first step to get off the couch (or out of the weight room) and get a little dirty. It is hard to sit in a classroom and learn if you can’t get out there and do the actual work.
“Pearls don’t lie on the seashore, If you want one you must dive for it” – Chinese proverb.
You must challenge yourself daily. Don’t let your body and mind succumb to the easy way and get comfortable with being average.
You must reject mediocre. You must seek out new challenges. You like a plant in that you are either growing or dying. There is no in between.
SGPT Homework: Write down a list of what you have become comfortable in with your life. Do you question yourself that you know you could do better? Is there more to your life.. your existence? Can you give more to your family and friends around you? Can you do more to develop your mind and body? If you answered yes to any of those questions – then write down what you will do today to propel yourself forward to live better and grow 1% today. Take massive action on what you wrote.
