Kelty Map 3500 Backpack Reviews

The Kelty Map 3500 backpack is a trustworthy and versatile companion for outdoor enthusiasts who value functionality, durability, and comfort. Designed with hikers and backpackers in mind, this pack offers a balance between ample storage space and a lightweight design, making it suitable for a variety of outdoor adventures.

One of the standout features of the Kelty Map 3500 is its capacity. With a total volume of 3500 cubic inches (57 liters), this backpack provides sufficient room to store all your gear, whether you’re embarking on a multi-day trek or a day hike. The main compartment is spacious and easy to access, thanks to the top-loading design. It also includes a zippered front pocket and multiple external attachment points, allowing you to conveniently organize and secure your belongings.

Durability is a key aspect of any backpack, and the Kelty Map 3500 doesn’t disappoint. Constructed with high-quality materials, including a rugged nylon fabric, this pack is built to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. The reinforced stitching and robust zippers ensure long-lasting performance, giving you confidence that your gear will stay protected throughout your adventures.

Comfort is paramount when it comes to backpacking, and the Kelty Map 3500 excels in this aspect. The pack features Kelty’s signature PerfectFIT suspension system, which allows you to adjust the torso length to achieve a personalized fit. This system, coupled with the padded shoulder straps and waist belt, distributes the weight evenly, reducing fatigue and allowing for a more enjoyable experience on the trails.

Another noteworthy feature is the backpack’s versatility. The Kelty Map 3500 includes a removable top lid that can be converted into a sling pack for shorter excursions, providing added convenience and adaptability. The pack is also hydration compatible, with an internal sleeve and hose port, making it easy to stay hydrated on the go.

While the Kelty Map 3500 is an excellent backpack overall, there are a few areas where it could be improved. The hip belt pockets could be larger and more easily accessible, as they are currently somewhat limited in size. Additionally, a more comprehensive organization system within the main compartment would be beneficial for those who prefer meticulous gear organization.

This pack has been the preferred Military Assault Pack of the U.S. Navy SEALs for the past 6 years due to its rugged construction and superior design.

Kelty Map 3500 Backpack Reviews

I purchased this pack to replace my 10 year old Kelty Zephyr and it does an absolutely amazing job. The internal aluminum frame can be custom tailored to fit YOUR frame. It is extremely comfortable and highly adjustable.

I only wished it had MOLLE. I look forward to trying to wear this one out in the next 10 years. I have used this extensively for periods of a day to multi day activity. It has held up well and still looks good! I like the thought that was put into the organization of this bag, it works. It’s light yet durable, the perfect combination.
