SEAL Team SIX Member Reveals How to Escape A Kidnapping

Check out this video on how a SEAL Team SIX member reveals how to escape a kidnapping. It’s loaded with tips on how to keep yourself alive longer and get out of any situation.

TIP #1
Hide tools on your body

The two best tools that you can use are a razor blade and a handcuff key.

Wrap the razor blade with duck tape and put it in your shoe.

Put the handcuff key in the other shoe.

TIP #2:
How to escape a car trunk. Often kidnappers will stuff a hostage in the trunk of their own car. Try to escape before you get to your next stop. They did not do a very good job on securing you when stuffing you in the trunk. Use your tools now to cut yourself loose. Many new cars have an inside latch. Study the latch on your car to make sure you know where it is. Find the tire iron in the trunk and use it as a weapon.

How to Escape a Kidnapping

Being kidnapped is a terrifying and dangerous situation. However, there are some things you can do to increase your chances of escape:

Try to remain calm and composed. This can be extremely difficult, but it’s important to stay focused and alert so that you can assess the situation and plan your escape.

Look for opportunities to escape. This might include trying to get the attention of passersby, creating a distraction, or finding a moment when your captors are distracted or momentarily off-guard.

Try to leave clues for others to follow. If you are being transported, for example, you might try to leave a trail of items that can be easily spotted by others, such as clothing or personal belongings.

Try to establish a rapport with your captors. While this may seem counterintuitive, building a relationship with your kidnappers may help you gain their trust and provide an opportunity to negotiate your release or escape.

Try to gather information about your surroundings. This might include paying attention to street signs or landmarks, or trying to eavesdrop on conversations to gain insight into your captors’ plans.

Use self-defense techniques if you have been trained. If you are physically attacked, try to defend yourself with any techniques you have learned. This might include striking vulnerable points on the body or using improvised weapons.

Finally, if you are able to escape, seek help immediately. Call the police or emergency services, and provide them with as much information as possible about your location and the individuals who kidnapped you.
