US Navy SEALs Mistaken for Mexican Navy

On July 11, 2017, three mysterious-looking boats showed up in Dana Point Harbor (Dana Point, CA), the rumors were of two veins: The boats belonged to the Mexican Navy, or to the US Homeland Security.

A reporter for The Log, a boating and fishing magazine, contacted three different agencies–Orange County Parks, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Coast Guard–to ask about the boats, but all three agencies stated they didn’t know the boats were in the harbor, nor to whom they belonged.

The article concluded that the rumors were correct–the boats did belong to the Mexican Navy.

In a later story, shortly after the boats appeared again in the Dana Point Harbor, The Log, reported that the stealth-like boats belonged to the US Navy SEALs.

Who are the US Navy SEALS?

The US Navy SEALs, an acronym for Sea, Air, and Land Teams, are an elite special operations force within the United States Navy. Established in 1962, the SEALs are renowned for their expertise in unconventional warfare, counter-terrorism, reconnaissance, and direct action missions. They undergo some of the most rigorous and demanding training in the world, emphasizing physical endurance, mental resilience, and specialized combat skills.

Navy SEALs are highly trained operatives selected from the ranks of the US Navy. Their training, which includes BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) training and specialized courses, equips them with skills in combat diving, parachuting, marksmanship, close-quarters combat, and various tactics for operating in diverse environments, such as sea, air, and land. SEAL teams are capable of conducting operations in challenging and often hostile environments worldwide, carrying out missions ranging from reconnaissance and hostage rescue to counter-terrorism operations and supporting conventional military forces. The SEALs‘ versatility, proficiency, and ability to operate in high-stress and high-risk situations make them one of the most respected and effective special operations forces in the world.
