511 Tactical TacTec plate carrier review
Was really excited to pick up this weight vest as I saw it on the recent CrossFit games being used for workouts.
I like to shoot weapons at the range and wanted to get a plate carrier vest anyways.
So the 5.11 TacTec plate carrier is really comfortable and it has been through a lot of abuse.
I would recommend it to any one who is both into shooting and working out since you can use it both ways.
The fabric holds up to sweat and dirt and getting tossed around in the gym. I like the dimensions as it fits my body well and doesn’t bounce around as much as my previous vest.
This vest was used at the CrossFit Games last year for workouts including the Murph.
There are a bunch of photos out there of Josh Bridges wearing this weight-vest during competitions.
You are seeing a lot of abuse moving fast in the Games and none of them have torn up.
If I could have one vest and money was no object then this is the one.

FITS GREAT
I really like the fit as this is a bomber plate carrier.
Price is good at $189 and it has held up to 6 months at the range and workouts.
I cant find anything bad to say about the 511 Tactical weight vest i would say go for it if you are thinking about picking one up. I have used it for 6 months and still cant find much to say negative about it.
Shop around on the price as some places have the price jacked up.
You can put 4 rows of AR mags on it so that is a major plus for days at the range.
Question: What about the rogue fitness 5.11 weighted vest vs Box vest?. v-force?
Rogue sells the 5.11 vest as well as OpticsPlanet.com for $189 and you get free shipping and handling.
If you shop around you can always get the same gear for cheaper than Rogue as their prices are a little higher because of their brand name.
At Rogue the vest is $240.00 with a 20 lb plate
At 511Tactical.com you can get the vest without weights for $199.
So you are paying $50 for a 20 lb plate to put into the vest.
Question: How can I find out more info about the CrossFit games?
Answer: Check out the main CrossFit website here:
