3VGear Velox II Tactical Backpack Review

If you are looking for an inexpensive backpack that is versatile for both you ruck hiking or just carrying your laptop to the local coffee shop – this is the pack that you want now.

Velox is Latin means “swift” which is what I use this pack for. When I am traveling quickly to the airport for an overnight trip this is my go-to bag. This Velox II 27 liter backpack from 3VGeae is actually bigger than it looks as it can expand. I put my laptop in the main compartment (padded with sleeve to secure laptop) and extra batteries and cords in the outer pockets. If I travel then I can throw a lightweight jacket in the main part with the laptop. I can add a travel bag in the next compartment.

Did I mention that this backpack is only $57? You can easily spend over $100 for similar bags that give you the same carrying capacity and features.

When I am out in the field on a hike with my dog this is the perfect pack to use.  I throw some water and food in the main pack. A lightweight jacket in the next one. I can put my med kit and cell phone in the outer compartment and easy to get if I want it quickly. I add an extra battery and cables and ready down the trail.

Heading out on an overnight camping trip? This pack will be a little small but also make you decide better on your gear. You can take a tarp and floor mat. Lightweight sleeping bag, light weight jacket and extra socks. Some overnight food and water and your fully packed. But if you want to add more gear like a camp stove and full tent then this is not the bag.

I do like how this pack is molle compatible so I can add multiple pouches for small gear.

If you are carry more of a load (more supplies, water and batteries) it has an outer tightening strap to tighten up you load.  On the other end – the main compartment is easy to compress down as it has a “clamshell design” which allows the backpack to make itself small.

This pack is very popular and has 591 good reviews on the 3VGear website:
