SEALgrinderPT.com Interviews Lord Vadimer aka Chris Vorzimer
SGPT: Tell us a little about yourself and your background coming into Kokoro?
CV: I am 22 from Simi Valley, California. I am planning on joining the Navy to become a Navy SEAL. I train very hard throughout the week around 10-12 times during the week and I do different stuff such as weight training, swimming, running, cycling ect..
I was looking for a “challenge” because when you get to a certain level it is hard to find people to train with or even people to train you. I researched online and talked to one of my friends who went through “kokoro” and decided that is what I have to do. So I went not knowing really what to expect for the whole camp, just some basics.
SGPT: What was the hardest part of SEALFIT Kokoro for you?
CV: To be honest, I can workout for a long time, but having no sleep is not the greatest. It is something that you just have to get used to. Sleep deprivation is my downside.
SGPT: How did you prepare for Kokoro and how long?
CV: I did not really prepare at all, I was already on a tough training program and just went for it.
SGPT: What is one tip you would give a candidate for SEALFIT Kokoro?
CV: There are so many tips, but a few would be to learn to be a team player and a leader which does not sound like you can do both but it is, and to make sure you are in decent shape before you get there. Oh and have fun!
SGPT: How does it feel to be done and what have you learned?
CV: I have learned A LOT! I know what I am capable of and tasks now are not as hard as they used to be, especially on really challenging WODs or any crazy workout. But it also applies to your mental strength as well, maybe even more than physical. You have to control your brain, not let it control you in challenging or hard situations!
SGPT: Thanks for the interview, John and I look forward to seeing you at SEALFit soon.
CV: Ya, no problem, Coach Brad. I am pumped to get back down there to help and train and see everyone, that is really all I think about when I am training or at work. Hope to see new faces in the Kokoro classes as well.
Are you interested in training for an endurance event like SEALFIT 20X, GORUCK or a Spartan Race? Do you want to increase your human potential so that you can move faster to your goals?
Do you have a big event on the horizon and you want to finish the drill?
Looking to get out of a rut and push forward to beat yesterday now?
