Check out the video below of US Special Forces working with the Afghan National Army. The first guy through the door is Afghan National Army (ANA).
His weapon is hit and he turns and runs out the door (look for sparks when rounds hit his weapon).
He is killed when he runs outside (this happens off camera).
Insurgents inside the house shoot the ANA soldier through holes in the front of the building.
The Special Forces soldier neutralizes the threat.
The United States Army Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets, have played a crucial role in Afghanistan over the years, particularly in the context of the global War on Terror. Since the early stages of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001, these highly trained and elite units have been instrumental in conducting unconventional warfare, counterterrorism operations, and building indigenous Afghan forces.
Green Berets are known for their adaptability and the ability to work closely with local Afghan communities. They have been integral in training, advising, and assisting Afghan military and security forces, as well as other regional partners, in their fight against terrorist groups, including the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Through Special Forces detachments, the U.S. has fostered lasting relationships and supported Afghan units in developing their own capabilities.
The Special Forces’ contribution goes beyond the battlefield, encompassing humanitarian efforts such as medical assistance, infrastructure development, and community engagement, which has been essential in winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people. Their mission in Afghanistan has been challenging, often involving long deployments and complex operational environments, but the Green Berets have displayed unwavering dedication to their duty. As the U.S. military’s involvement in Afghanistan continues to evolve, the role of the Special Forces remains pivotal in assisting and supporting Afghan security forces and aiding the nation’s transition to greater stability and self-reliance.
Question: What kind of boots do US Army Rangers wear in Afghanistan wear?
Answer: Most of the time it is anything they want. Special Forces has been described as a team of military guys all wearing different gear. During my time on the SEAL Teams I was issued a pair of black Danner boots similar to the Danner USMC Rat Temperate Boot
