Training for a goal with Retired Navy SEAL Lance Cummings

Hey; its Coach Brad;
Right now i’m probably on mile 175 of my 300 mile off road bike race across Florida.

Somewhere near Palatka and the St Johns River/Lake George area.

A big chunk of the field quit as the temps got pretty cold.

So I stopped for a few to warmup with a cup of coffee and send out this note to Team SGPT

I get motivated from watching my friends train for their goals. Really gets me fired up.

One group friends of mine are training for a truly epic adventure.

On D-Day 2018, they will be swimming 10km in the English Channel, scaling the cliffs at Omaha Beach and concluding with a 20km Ruck to St’ Lo France.

I asked event founder and participant Ret. Navy SEAL Lance Cummings how he was training for this incredible adventure.

“I start out really small, I’m an experienced open water swimmer but I know that I need to work up to the 10km target slowly. Right now, I’m doing 2-hour open ocean swims in San Diego, 3 times a week. Really easy to accomplish for me but I’m just working on getting 1% better each day. I will ultimately train to swim 15km even though I know the event is 10KM. There will be no doubt in my mind I will succeed when I set out on June 6th, 2018.”

This is a great strategy for training and it’s also how we have set up our SGPT 180 Day Training System for 2018.

We crawl, walk, run. It’s scalable to all levels, beginner to advanced. Setting you up for success.
