Suunto Vector Altimeter Watch
Take a step up. Think you’ve seen this altimeter on someone’s wrist before?

That’s because since its introduction in 1998, the Suunto Vector Altimeter Watch has served as the altimeter, barometer, and electronic compass of choice for hard-core adventurists from mountaineers to Marines and US Navy SEALs.

Since then, Suunto has greatly simplified the watch interface on this wristop computer to be more user friendly, upgraded the compass to be more precise, and added weather functions for peace of mind.

This watch rocks, keeps track of my vert biking, hiking, and skiing. I love the sun up and sun down times because I am always trying to squeeze in a few more laps before the sun goes down. The memory is awesome for comparing laps.

I haven’t had any problems with the battery thus far. All in all its been a great watch and looks sick too!

Finally got an altimeter watch and it’s great to have that additional information beyond what I got from my old reliable Timex Triathlon watches. The face is a black background and makes it only a little harder to see the numbers but I’ve been able to read them while riding my bike and when I’ve needed to. THe watch should retain usable accuracy for a backcountry trip, with proper calibration beforehand. To be honest, the most important part of this watch is the barometric trend. Whether or not your watch will match the news or local weather barometric pressure is not relevant, it will mirror the overall trend of the barometer, even if the numbers are high or low. It’s the trend that’s important, not the numbers.
