Team SGPT—
Ever get that feeling the night before a big event?
Palms sweaty. Stomach doing flips. You’re wired but tired. You stare at the ceiling wondering,
“Am I ready for this?”
Maybe it’s the night before your Laurence McCulloughs Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim.
Or Glenn Bland’s Orca 100-mile ultra.
Or maybe it’s the fire of SEALFIT Kokoro staring you in the face.
Let me be real with you—I still get nervous.
Even now, a few days out from flying out to coach the very last SEALFIT Kokoro, I feel it in my chest.
But here’s the truth…
Being nervous means you care.
It means this mission MATTERS.
Kokoro isn’t just another training event.
For me it’s a symbol.
It represents the belief that you are capable of 20X more than your mind will ever admit.
That mindset has shaped my entire life.
I learned it the hard way going through Navy SEAL BUD/S training twice – is that you are capable of waayy more than you think.
20X. Always more in the tank.
That’s why I believe in setting big, gnarly goals.
The kind that make your knees shake a little.
Not just because of the physical challenge—but because of what you’ll find on the other side.
Why dream big? Why test yourself?
Because you’ll never know what you’re capable of until you’re deep in the suck, and the only way out is forward.
That’s where you find out who you are.
That’s where you evolve.
So if you’re nervous—GOOD.
Breathe deep. Pack your gear. And lean into it.
You’ve got more in you. Let’s go find it.
